FAQ's (Frequently Asked Qustions)
  Q. How reliable is the ePlanet technology platform?
--ePlanet is the creator of its own technology. From voice capture servers to workflow management to web design, ePlanet team of programmers has been evolving this mature software since 1990. ePlanet's ASP is hosted by ePlanet in its own network operating center (NOC). The system architecture is designed for fault tolerance and scalability. Its voice capture servers are clustered and interoperable, each with a relational database that enables uninterrupted service, even in the event of faults in other areas of the ASP. Redundant T1 feeds from multiple carriers ensure that even the pathways into the system are backed up. Database (SQL Server) and Web servers are also clustered for load balance and fault tolerance. Critical servers are equipped with RAID5 technology and dual power supplies. The NOC environment is equipped with primary and backup air-conditioning units. Multiple UPS systems and backup generators ensure power at all times. All systems are continuously monitored by network monitoring software to provide 24/7 notification to ePlanet's technical support team in the event of anomalies.

Q. What about backup and storage?
Operating systems and databases are backed up to a tape library daily. Voice and text files are written to mirrored systems real-time and copied to on-line NAS storage systems for on-line access by ASP subscribers and their clients on demand. The standard retention period for voice files is 30 days, but the ASP is programmable for long-term audio storage as well - a feature frequently used for supporting insurance, legal and courtroom applications. The standard retention period for text is 7 years and is automatic.
